Product Description

Celebrate The Winter Solstice
December 21 is the winter solstice. As the shortest day and longest night of the year, this day marks the official start of the winter season. Think snow, hot chocolate, and snuggly blankets.

How can we celebrate the Winter Solstice? My mother used to celebrate on December 21 because she could, on this date, look forward to progressively more daylight and sun. For her, winter was over, even though, seasonally, we call it the first day of winter.

Since Science does not live in a vacuum without math, the concept of time includes both subjects. In the spirit of these newsletters being a learning resource and information guide, students may be interested in reviewing and learning more about “The Concept of Time” in the printable worksheet from our Arithmetic Series, Multiplication program.
